    making a paste of flour and water and putting it on a pan. This was a very soft light cake.
    Another very pleasant cake that was used was griddle cake. This was made on a flat iron stand placed in front of the fire. It was left baking for half of an hour, after which it was taken up and buttered while hot.

    Nearly every local place is called after some particular event that happened in the place.
    "Pebbs Hollow" for example is so named because "Pebb" was killed there.
    "Ballinough" means the land of the hills because it is entirely surrounded by hills. On account of
