    On the fifteenth of November as you may understand,
    The death of Patrick Geoghagan's ass was heard throughout the land.
    At twelve O'clock that fatal night, as Patrick lay asleep,
    And as he lay in slumber, he dreamt the ass was dead;
    And going to the stable said "God be with you Jack",
    "Its over your old skin and bones my whip shall never crack",
    And calling to the misses said "poor old Jack is dead."
    He sent for Michael Cushion a man of noble skill
    And said the poor old donkey passed away and never made a will.
    The history of this donkey, I'm bound to let you know,;
    I bought him from Kate Shanley some many years ago.
