    When the sky is red in the east in the morning it is a sure sign of bad weather. If the stars appear dull, and the moon is encircled with a halo, the clouds travel upwards to the mountain and are fluffy in appearance, the rainbow if seen in the morning indicates bad weather.
    The south-westerly wind brings the most rain to our district, some people still say that when the Ballindaggin bell is discerned in Kiltealy rain
