  1. Poets were not very plentiful in our district formerly but there are none at all in in now.
    There were three poets living here -:
    Jem Rossiter, Jem Pender and Mrs Daly.
    Jem Rossiter lived in Ballytramont, he was born in the year of 1835.
    He was a fisher man by trade and he also used to make potato baskets, mend boots, and other odd jobs.
    He used to make songs about dances, parties, hurling matches, football matches, and so forth.
