   was an unmerciful scream and the man with the cloven foot was seen to vanish through the roof. The room where this occurred is know as the 'Haunted room' and the present occupants of the house always keep it locked, and we are told that there is an impression on the wall of something like a hand where the mysterious person is supposed to have touched when passing through the roof, and though this has been plastered over many times it can never be effaced.
