  1. One night a man named Tom Walsh was coming home about twelve o clock after gambling. He had to come across the fields, and when he came to the first field, he saw a big black dog. He did not mind it at first, but as he came nearer the dog got bigger. It followed him across the field and he got so frightened that whatever money he had won he took it out of his pocket and flung it into the field and the dog disappeared.
