    friendly counntry and was not dreaming of danger. It happened however that a scouting party of twelve of the Ancient Britons under the command of a sergeant was scouting. When Patrick saw them he had no weapons. He ran up behind them and instead of escaping, he stood up in his stirrups and shouted out "Boys don't fire on them if they surrender." Taken by surprise and assuming they were surrounded the Yeomen threw their weapons to the ground and surrendered as prisoners of war. Patrick not giving them time to see their mistake ordered them to trot before him and he soon delivered them into the camp in Camolin.
    Not long after this event he was shot through the leg. The wound was neglected and got poisoned.
