    1. In Maudlintown graveyard there is a solider with two swords and a chest of gold beside him and if you could kill him you would get the gold.
    2. If a spark of wood from the fire fell on you, you would get money.
    3. If you look at the moon through the window it is unlucky.
    4. If there is lightning going you should cover a mirror.
    5. If your foot is itchy you are going to get money.
    6. If you broke a mirror you would had seven years of bad luck.
    7. If your foot is itchy you are going to walk on strange ground.
    8. When a dog is moaning it is a sign that some one is dying.
    9. Every night the dead carriage goes along the Main Street at twelve o'clock and if you stood in the middle of it you would get a stroke of a whip.
    10. If you saw a piece of dirt hanging from the bars of the fire a stranger would come to the door.
