    White - } Captain White was Chief Officer of the Police. He was a very humane gentlemen in the discharge of his duties. He resided with his family on the College Rd. in the old College (See page 156.)
    Jones - }The Jones family lived in the Big House at the Tannery Gate (See page 134) Then built 'Brandon' which they sold when they left town for Derby.
    Lundyfoot*- Lived in Rosbercon Castle. Evicted a man named Murphy to increase the size of the Castle gardens. Was killed in the lane behind the Castle.
    Graves - Lived in Rosbercon Castle after Lundyfoot - Afterwards left and have since resided in Waterford. But the factory is still going strong in New Ross.

    *Murphy was tried and sentenced to death for the murder of Lundyfoot. The morning of his execution he was brought from Kilkenny jail, sitting on his own scaffold. It was erected near Rosbercon Chapel. It is said the rope broke twice before he was hanged.
    Hinson} This was a leading lawyer in New Ross. He lived where Mrs. Dr. Hickey lives now.
