  1. This game was played with a ball struck by the hand.
    1st. Four 'dens' were made with four stones, thus:
    2nd. Two captains- each called their team.
    3rd. They "tossed up" for 'in'. 'in' meant to be in possession of the ball and 'dens'. The 'out' team fielded out and tried to catch the 'in' team 'out'.
    4th. Each of the 'in' team struck the ball at the first 'den'.
    5. If the ball was 'caught' that player was knocked out.
    6. If the ball got clear the player ran round the four dens and was 'in' again.
    7. When all players on a team were knocked out but one it was said to be "Game Ball" on that one. Three times that one had to make the round of 'dens'- if she failed 'fielding out' team got 'in'.
    This was a very exciting game and a safe one for children. One never sees it now.
