    There are a great many customs connected with May Day in this country. If you wanted milk or butter on May morning from some people they would not give it, they would say it is not lucky to give anything away on that day. There is another local custom, if a person saw a red haired woman on the road they would turn back again, they would also say it would bring bad luck. If anyone churned on May
