There is an old Castle near the military barracks and it was the castle of the O'Farrells. There is supposed to be an under ground passage from the castle to Saint John's Church.

As we walk down Great Water St to a place commonly known as the Blind Man's Walk we can see a demense. It has been occupied by Protestants for years, and is a beautiful scenery along the edge of the Camlin. At the back of a certain house the ruins of an old Chapel is there from the eleventh century and many people were buried there and the tombstones are to be seen there yet.
