When St Brigid was going to visit an old sick lady.

When St Brigid was going to visit an old sick lady, she was walking along the road and gathering rushes to make a cross to bring it to the old lady. Pieces of the rushes are kept to this day as relics of St Brigid. Her feast day is held on the first day of February.
