  1. Socks and stockings are knitted locally by machines. Mrs Mc govern Firmullagh spins wool into thread. One time my mother got wool from a neighbour who lives beside us and she gave it to that woman to get it spun. After a while when she had it spinning mother knitted a jumper and shirt for me and I have the shirt of it yet. I have it ten years now. It lasts much longer than the wool one buys in the shop. When my mother had it knitted she dyed it red. There are about three spinning machines in the district.
