  1. At the foot of a field owned by Mr John Kiernan, Ballyduffy, there was once a great spring well. A woman washed dirty clothes in the well. Before she had finished washing the water had completely gone out of the well whilst it broke out in a field owned by Mr John Joe Kiernan. It is said Saint Patrick blessed this well.
