    The last weaver in the locality was John Flaherty, of Derrycasson, Dring, Granard. The weaver spun the linen cloth on his wheel. Numbers of these wheels are still to be seen in the locality but are out of use.
    There were several "bleaching greens" in this townland notably at William Beglans and John Banks.

  2. Earthenware was also manufactured in this area at Derrycasson. There is a well close to the ancient castle of the Doppings called the "Crocker's Well.
    The clay called "golack" was obtained in the field now owned by John Skelly. It may be noticed that a huge hallow exists there. It is stated that this hallow was caused by the digging up of this clay for pottery purposes. Crocks and dishes were shaped out of the clay after
