    Cure for a sting: Put whiskey or blue to it until it is gone.
    Cure for a cold: Boil some sweet milk and get some mustard and put a sup of water on it. When the milk is boiled pour it on the mustard and drink it until you are better.
    Cure for a bite of a Dog: Pull a handful of hairs out of a dog and put them to the cut and it will not fester.
    Cure for a cough: Put a cup of buttermilk down in a saucepan on the fire; when it is boiled take it and put sugar on it and drink it and it will soften the cough.
    Cure for a stye in the eye: On the first Thursday and Monday point eight gooseberries to the eye. You have to pull nine and throw the ninth without pointing it and the stye will go.
