  1. There was a hedge school in Tarmonbarry. The old masters used teach there when the English closed the schools. It is a corner of a field under a hedge and on one side is a wall.
    There was a hedge school in Fisherstown on John Skelly's field. Around it is full of briars & thorny bushes. People used learn there during the Penal laws and trouble.
