    There were many games played long ago but the people used not to call them games. They used to call them "Certs". The principal game they used to play was "potato-throwing". The way they used to play it was, there would be three people at one side of the field and three more at the other side and they would have one potato each and three round things made of wood which they used to make themselves, and the people at one side of the field used to throw their potatoes to the other side to see would they be able to throw them into the "Amlers" as the wooden things were called, and the people at the other side used to do the same, and they used to spend the whole evening playing this game.
