  1. In the townland of Lyneen there is a Fairy Fort. There is about one rood of land inside and it is surrounded by a ring of ancient bushes mostly whitethorn and hazel. There is another place called the Coilins quite different from a fort. It is a square piece of land and there is a number of hazel trees growing in it. Three Fairies appeared to an old man out of it one day with red trousers and blue jackets on them.
