sail across the Shannon to the Co. Longford side and carry it across to the other side. One time a Woman washed clothes on the Boat not knowing that it was any harm and immediately the Boat sank and refused to carry any other Corpse across the Shannon. Father White who was then parish Priest in White Hall got the boat lifted and it is still to be seen in White hall Chapel Yard and the shape of St. Barry cut in it.
