    go to Mass as the roads were all blocked with snow.
    There was a breadvan driver from Athlone who was going to Ferbane with bread and he got blocked with the snow and had to leave the van on the road side and walk back to Athlone. He could not get back for the van until the snow was cleared away which was over a week.
