    days so they got a cart with long heelsticks and stuck them in the ground. Then they tied him to the shafts. Before letting him drop they asked him if there was anything he wished for, and he said "Give me my cap and hurley that I was always so fond of." When they granted his wish he said "Fly away" and immediately himself and the cart flew into the air and never stopped until he landed back to his native place in Connaught. This is how the carts with the long heelsticks came to Connaught and from that day to this they will use no other.

  2. Once there was a rich man and he became very poor. Himself and his wife were going to the fair with their last cow and as they had a long way to go he brought the last cake in the house with him. The cow went out to a gap and when he followed her he was surprised to see a small man sitting
