    Once upon a time two Americans met Paddy in New York.
    He was a bit green as he had just arrived in the States.
    They knew this and thought they would take a rise out of him.
    "Well, Paddy", said they, "and how are the praties in Ireland"?
    Paddy had a blackthorn in his hand.
    He lifted it up and gave both of them a whack on the head with it.
    While they rubbed their heads, Paddy remarked, "that's a taste of the stalk, now you can guess what the butt is like".
