  1. Local Cures
    There were many ways in which diseases were cured in olden times when there were very few doctors.
    A man named Mattie Byrne, who lives in Ballinea has a cure for a toothache because he is the seventh son of a family.
    Ringworm-To crawl through an opening under a hedge is a cure for ringworm.
    A Rash-Soot and ground ivy mixed well together make a cure for a bad rash.
    Sore Throat- May be cured (1) by drinking the milk in which a weed known as garlic has been boiled (2) Another cure for a sore throat is to tie a stocking full of roasted salt round the neck when going to bed and the sore throat will be better in the morning.
    Earache- A roasted onion placed at the back of the ear will cure ear-
