    Monday for health
    Tuesday for wealth
    Wednesday the best day of all
    Thursday for losses
    Friday for crosses
    And Saturday the best day of all.
    In times gone by matches were always made in this district, both money and goods were given as dowry. Many old customs still take place on the wedding day, such as the Bridegroom and his friends being at the church first and in the first car coming to the Bride's home for breakfast A "halwling homes" is held. The Bridegroom brings the Bride to his home and on that night a dance or party is always held.
    There are certain colours supposed to be lucky such as
    Married in blue you always prove blue
    Married in green you are ashamed to be seen
    Married in gray you will live far away
