    him. The Fr Coffey was a brother of Richard Coffey Newcastle.
    Fr Coffey's tombstone is written in Latin.
    An elm tree grows over the grave of Fr Shanley and it splits in two branches about 5 ft from the ground and in the cavity between the two branches some water remains no matter how dry the summer. This is an absolute fact.
    Convenient to Carrick is Lough Ennel and in an island on this Lough called Cro Innis King Malachy was buried.
    The walls of the grave or vault are to be seen covered with moss and trees some 30 ft high are growing over it at present. This island is on the shore of Rochford Demsense, owned by Sir Francis Hopkins - Hopkins was a landlord
