  1. Forge Work.
    Thomas Ivory. Marlinstown, Delvin, is a local blacksmith. He makes slanes for cutting turf, and repairs ploughs, harrows and mowing machines, and shoes horses.
    Spinning.
    Mrs Moore, Caddagh, Delvin, used to spin flax, and take the cloth into the dye works in Mullingar. That work is discontinued. It ceased eighty years ago.
    Candle Making
    Candle making was carried on in my district a long time ago.
    People used to peel rushes and dip them in grease. They were then left up to dry. When they were dry they were dipped again, until there was a good coat of grease on them. They were lit then and showed
