    the 'Sign of the Cross' on the cows udder. when a woman is milking she usually is singing and lilting to herself. When the cow soes not give her usual supply of milk it is said " The Good People" are milking her.
    when a person is churning and the butter does not come they say the fairies are taking it.
    The horses do the farm work such as bringing home turf and hay and so on. They are kept in at night in the Winter but are put out in Summer and Autumn. It is said that a black horse called Pooka goes about at night. I never saw this horse. It is said that fairy horses and fairy riders go about at night.
