    Bent in two like a thatcher's Tosgán

    Bent in two like a thatcher's Tosgán
    A "thosgán" is a thatcher's bow. It consisted of a sally or hazel rod which fitted into a groove on a board. The bow held the straw in position whilst the thatcher was working.
