  1. In the townland of Newcastle there was a man named Patrick Sheehan, who had built a small cabin on a fairies' pass, which led to a fort. When this man had his house built, he did not live in it for some time. He came one night to have a look at it, and when he had reached his cabin he found that it had been lit up by a band of fairies. He could not see them, but when he entered in the lights quenched. He could hear the tramping of them on the outside. The same thing happened for many nights at the same time, so he came another night and they had knocked it down.
