  1. There was one a man named William Givney who was a famous man for weaving baskets. He lived in Moylough and was my grandfather. He was so good at this that he was called the Sally Man. In order to prepare the rods he would boil the rods, but if he was making baskets for children to bring to school he would paint them first, and then weave them. If it was for for potatos basket and creels he would not paint them. We have at home a small shopping basket made by him.
