  2. There are four forges in this parish. The Smiths are Mr Farrell Sen, Mr Farrell Jun of Sallygardens, Mr Nevin of Slane Castle and Mr Tallon Slane. The Farrell family have been engaged in this tradition for the past 40 years. Also the Tallon have been engaged in the trade for the past 100 years.
