    rich people and 17, 18, 19 years were poor.
    There were several hardworking farmers and labourers who never put a boot on their foot they did not even know what they were.
    Nearly all the children go barefooted in summer. It is said the healthy children are those who are in their bare feet.
    Water for washing feet is sometimes boiled and cooled down.
    There are no boots made locally, they are all made in factories. They are repaired with two men who live in the village of Slane named Thomas Darby and Andy Gallagher. None of their ancestors were shoemakers.
