   Cromwell had there for the purpose of hanging any unfortunate person who happened to break his law. There is no trace of where the gallows were erected but the hill got its name from them.

   The Collera Meadow is a field owned by Mr McKeever of Fennor Slane and is situated on the Drogheda road. In this field the people who had the Collera were fed on stirabout at that time. Bella Bocht is a field at the Commons Slane and it is not known how it got its name. There is supposed to be bad land in it. Crock Uggan is a small hill in a wood known as the Little Wood so called because people of the name of Uggan lived there.
