- It may surprise many of your readers to hear that there is a man, a boy rather, in Navan who spends most of his time among the good people of the Mollies and fairies of the Moate. He is a shoemaker by trade, but does little at the business, having being left a legacy by his mother, a lady of rank who would have been married to a distinguished military officer had he not left the country immediately on the birth of poor little Jemmy.
