  1. Conor Sheridan was a very young boy when he got the knowledge he possessed.
    His father's land ran to the shore of Lough Bawn (Bán), and while he was minding the cattle he fell asleep on the bank of the lough and when he awoke there was a violin one side of him and a book on the other.
    He took up the book, and the violin disappeared.

    He brought it home and he was told in his sleep never to let anyone see it hear about it.
    This book gave him the knowledge of seeing into people's minds.
    In Conor's early time there was a man from Kildalkey who lost a new axle of a dray which was uncommon at that time.
    He went to Conor Sheridan and when Conor saw him he told him to go back to the bog of Frayne to the neighbouring bank of his own in the bog.
    He told him to dig on the crack on that bank and he would find his axle there and so he did.
