“There once lived in a place called Ballasport a man named Pigott.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)called Ballasport a man named Piggott. He was a blind man and he used to earn his living playing music on bagpipes. The people in the neighbourhood used call him Pigott the Piper.
One day he was very sick and he took a dose of salts. He was out walking in the garden that day and he went over and sat down on the ditch to smoke. He fell asleep and began to dream.
He dreamed that an eagle soared down out of the sky, caught him under her left wing and brought him up till they reached the sky. He could hear the saints inside in heaven threshing corn with flails. St. Peter was going among them making them work.
Pigott knocked on the sky and one of the saints stuck out the búlcín of the flail.
Pigott caught it and as soon as he did the eagle flew away(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
