  1. Mrs. Mc Cabe also tells us that in a field the property of Mr. O'Sullivan on the castle hill of Walterstown near Skryne there are trunks of gold hidden.Long ago, a man who was living in England, after dreaming several nights in succession that gold in plenty was hidden in the above mentioned field ,and that a certain stone should be found before the hiding place should be located , came over to Ireland in search of the treasure When he set foot on Irish soil he hired two men to help him in his labour. After the work had been commenced the men grew selfish and they planned to divide whatever they should find between themselves . Their employer, however , overheard their conversation , so he parted from them and fledback to England . The two men were dissappointed and turned up nothing with their spades except the rich , fertile , brown earths , so cmmonly found in the Co. Meath.
