Long ago in the Donore Parish, my grandfather told me that the first thing you would do when entering the house where the person was dead was to say the De. profundis and if you did not know how to say it you would not enter the house, until someone would come that knew how to say it. The next thing you would do would be to the room where the person was being waked. Then you would kneel down and say some prayers "for the repose of their soul" In the wake room there would be three candles lit, and
