    Leather Tanning
    About forty years ago the tanning industry was very common in Drogheda. It was very different from the way it is done now. The result is not so good now as it was in those days.
    Formerly the leather hides were got by the tanners from the horses and cows. They sprinkled salt over them to help to remove the hair. Then they were spread on large
