    There are three forges in the parish GrangeBellew, Togher, Mountdoyle. They are owned by Bernard Holcroft, John Darby, & Joseph Callaghan.
    The Holcrofts have been smiths for three generations. The forges are all at crossroads. Holcrofts is beside a pump and Darby's is beside a stream. The forge is a stone building and a slated roof. The door is six feet high, and four feet wide.
    There is only one fire place. The bellows is a very big one, and there is a long handle on it, and a horn of a cow for holding it. The bellows was made in England The implements he uses are the anvil, sledge, vice drilling machine,
