    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    My great grandfather once owned the field through which St. Brigid's stream runs. One day he decided to plough, it up. When he had a centre just opened one of the horses fell down and when he went to lift it up he found it was dead. The other horse fell down and died also. The ground was never since ploughed.

    In the year 1858 the wreck of the Mary Stoddart took place in Dundalk Bay. At the same time one of the worst storms ever witnessed in this locality was raging. It lasted for five days.
