    the remains are generally carried, the use of a hearse being rather unusual. The coffin is carried from the burial-house by four people of the same surname.
    On the second day after the death the remains are taken to the local church where "offerings" are collected. After this the burial takes place.
    On the journey from the burial house to the graveyard church the coffin is left for a moment on the roadside at the outward boundary of the townland of which deceased was a native. This is referred to as the "last rest".
