  1. Kilmurray Fairs and the Priest's Curse
There was a village near the ruins of the old church, and great fairs used to be held there on New Year's Day in olden times cattle, sheep, pigs and horses were sold there and people attended from all over the county.
The fair green belonged to a family named Corry and they had a dispute with the priests of the parish about the dues or customs and it is said that the priests cursed them. "The day will come when there wont be a Corry in Kilmurry." and so it came to pass; all the Corrys died away and the last of them had no family and he sold his land to a neighbouring farmer.
The fairs died out and are held in the village of Uullagh instead.
