    Long ago the people used to be married in their own homes. In Shrove the people used to be married. It is unlucky to marry on the sixth day from the starting of Shrove.
    An old proverb all the old people have is that whatever is bound in August is loosened in Spring. When the bride used to be getting married long ago it was a custom to have something old, something new, something borrowed something blue.
