    Gleann Mór :- The name is self explanatory.
    Cluain an Ġaḃláin :- Two streams meet near the school hence the name.
    Cill Túmpair :- Generally translated as Tumper's Grave, Tumper being, according to local tradition a giant of olden times. Very little is really known of Tumpar if indeed anything. A cromlech is in the townland and is supposed to mark the "Grave".
    Baile na Míol :- As well stocked with hares today as when it got its name. Pr. bailie cf. baile na ḃfód
    Grán Riaḃaċ : (Grey Grove) It is held locally that not
