    held at the "Gaba Ruadhs" cross. On the morning of the fair word was sent to the surrounding parishes that the fair would be held at this cross. About 10.30 am there was a great gathering of people and cattle. The Black and Tan soldiers came and insisted on driving away the cattle. But in spite of that the buyers baught a great amount of the cattle. Kilmihil fairs were also known for faction fights. A man named Keane got killed one Michaelmas day
