from Dungarvan with coal to Goatenbridge met rats and a man behind them about a foot high driving them with a whip. The men were going to kill the rats but the man told them not to or he would lose his five pounds. He waved the whip and the rats lay down on the road.

Bhí fear bocht ag fáisidheacht bó ar thaobh an bhóthair. Thainig an ministéar suas leis. Cad atá tú ag deanamh annso a fhir bhocht. Táim ag fáiseadhacht mo bhó arsa sé sin, mar níl aon ait agam chun é do choimeád. Mo ghealluigheann tú go dtiocfaidh tú go dtí mo chreideamh dia domhnaigh, tabharfaidh mé féar na bó duit. Cuaidh an fear go dtí an céad Aifreann go dtí a shéipéal féin agus go dtí dara Aifreann an ministéara. Airighim ar sa'n ministéar go bhfuil ag dul go dtí do chéad Aifreann féin. Táim, ar sa'n fear ag dul le maitheas mo anam go dtí mo chreideamh féin, agus táim ar dul go dtí do chreideamh sa ar mhaitheas mo bhó.
