  1. Churning
    All the small farmers living on mountain make their own butter.
    Some have barrel churns, others have little hand churns. There is scarcely any staff churn to be found in the parish now. In most houses where only one or two cows are kept the butter is made in a small sweet gallon or a teapot. The teapot is supposed to be the quickest way.
